Men’s Group

The bold goal is that a clearer sense of your true self would emerge.

During our work you will explore how masculinity has shaped your relationship with yourself and others.

With the support of the group, you will begin to bring awareness to both your desires and your grief, where they have been arrested, and how you might begin to honor them.

In our work you will:

  1. have a better understanding of how stress impacts the body, mind, soul

  2. develop an understanding of what trauma is and its impact

  3. explore patriarchy’s impact on your development as a man

  4. gain understanding of how shame impacts identity formation

  5. gain a greater understanding of how depression is expressed in various forms

  6. begin to welcome grief as an antidote for pain

  7. explore what health means for you

  8. begin to explore practices to sustain your mental health

FAQs

What is the cost?

In an effort to make this work available to all men, I have elected to use a self-report sliding scale. I ask that you consider your contribution from $70-$30 per session or $560-$240 total for eight weeks. Take a look here: Sliding Scale Description, to see where you want to contribute from.

I do not cost to prohibit anyone that may want to join. Reach out if you have questions about this. Some may want to contribute more to make this work accessible to other men.

Can I use insurance?

I do not accept insurance for group work. At the conclusion of the 8 weeks, I will provide you with a superbill that you may be able to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. I strongly encourage you to call your insurance provider before you plan on using this.

If you would like a superbill please mark that in your application.

I might miss a group, can I still join? This is a closed group. Meaning that one cannot jump in on any given week. If you are going to miss a meeting please let me know. If you plan to miss more than one group, you may consider joining the next time the group runs.

I am gay or bisexual, can I still join?

Absolutely.
